TOSHIBA TEC Printing Solution Business Sets to Expand Sales in the Retail & Hospitality Industry

Introduction of the world's first MFP and Barcode Printer line up with re-usable paper; focus on optimal management transparency with smart sustainable business solution

TOKYO/BRUSSELS, June 2013 – TOSHIBA TEC today unveiled its 2013-2015 global business strategy for its Printing Solutions Business with a strong emphasis on the Retail & Hospitality industry.

Toshiba TEC's Printing Solution Business will introduce its innovative new solutions line up to leading retailers already working with Toshiba Global Commerce Solutions, the world's leading supplier of integrated in-store solutions.

As part of this new mid-term business plan, Toshiba TEC will offer the world's first ECO-friendly MFP systems as its Next Generation MFP flagship series. In order to evolve into one of the world's foremost eco-companies, Toshiba has been accelerating its environmental management, and works hard to find a careful balance between the print needs of businesses today and the preservation of our natural resources.

Growth Strategy in Retail and Hospitality Industry

Toshiba TEC's vast offering of smart in-store retail solutions includes digital signage, smart kiosk solutions as well as the new Communication Tabletop device.

Extending the relationship with Toshiba TEC's Printing Solutions is a natural fit to provide users to improve profitability, Toshiba Global Commerce Solutions reduces their ecological footprint and expand their customer offerings.

ECO Solution for a Sustainable Business

Toshiba TEC has taken a leadership role in environmental initiatives since the 1990s, conserving energy and water, using renewable energy sources, building green buildings and making recycling part of everyday life.

The Toshiba TEC Printing Solution Business is strongly committed to foster green printing anywhere where print is required, at the customers' business offices, supply chain operations, retail & hospitality businesses and other B2B operations, across the globe.

Following the February 2013 launch of the e-STUDIO306LP/RD30 in Japan, the world's first eco-friendly MFP system, Toshiba TEC for the very first time offers customers an MFP that operates with re-usable paper.

This revolutionary new MFP was recently unveiled at the '11th Informal Meeting on Further Action against Climate Change', hosted in Tokyo by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The groundbreaking new technology was equally exhibited at the East Asia Low Carbon Growth Partnership Dialogue as well as the Tokyo International Conference on African Development.

In addition to the line up of MFP solutions and BCS solutions that can offer lower power consumption, Toshiba TEC positioned the paper reusing MFP systems as the core products for the ECO-friendly solutions, and launches a series of innovative new printing devices such as rewritable barcode printer.

The new ECO line of printing solutions also integrates better energy management, smart paper management and services to create the new value for customers.

Toshiba TEC believes it is essential to put one's concern for the environment as a priority in all its business activities so as to protect people's safety and health as well as safeguard the world's natural resources.

Toshiba TEC will concentrate its strategy on the retail industry and its innovative ECO solution, expanding turnover five times from last year by 2015. Integrating innovative technologies from across Toshiba's wide spectrum of in-house technologies, the Printing Solution Business has a truly unique offering that no competitor can match at this point. Toshiba will thus create a new market space through Service Innovation and win the customers' trust.
