OSLO/BRUSSELS, August 2009 – Lindbak Retail Systems AS, a leading retail software house and systems integrator, announces today that it has been named a TOSHIBA TEC Business Partner for Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Iceland and Finland. This relationship will allow Lindbak to offer its retail clients a wider array of in-store EPOS hardware as well as innovative Electronic Shelf Labels (ESL) for the Nordic markets. TOSHIBA TEC and Lindbak stated their intention to cooperate on building a Best Practice software platform based on TOSHIBA TEC’s storeMate’s retail software suite and Lindbak Retail Solutions, both modelled on Microsoft .NET framework. Under the arrangement, the existing distribution agreement with Bedege in Sweden remains unchanged. Lindbak Retail Systems CEO Inge Eilertsen said: “Today’s retailer can no longer compete on price alone. In order to sustain and improve profitability in Scandinavia’s competitive retail markets, retailers need to differentiate themselves from other stores and strengthen customer loyalty to increase overall sales. That is why we allied ourselves with TOSHIBA TEC. Their innovative product portfolio combined with our retail applications and know-how suits retailers in the Nordic countries in the best possible way.” “TOSHIBA TEC’s sustainable technology successfully operates in a fiercely competitive retail environment. Our EPOS hardware is packed with the power to streamline business processes and maximise productivity. “With over six million EPOS systems manufactured, we are the only retail vendors that have total in-house control of our EPOS product lifecycle – from design, manufacturing, servicing to recycling. We are very proud that Lindbak will represent TOSHIBA TEC as strategic business partner in the Nordic countries,” Masamichi Kusunoki, CEO and President TOSHIBA TEC Europe said. With this reseller partnership in place, Lindbak will benefit significantly from expanded distribution opportunities and a proven technology partner that understands how to successfully bring new EPOS and retail technologies such as ESL to market.
