TOKYO/BRUSSELS, March 2011 – TOSHIBA TEC in Europe extend our heartfelt sympathy and deepest condolences to the people of Japan, our colleagues and their families. Our utmost concern has been the safety of all Toshiba colleagues and team members at our partner companies in the Tohoku region. TOSHIBA TEC has established a company-wide emergency task force to continually assess the situation and take initial measures. There have been no reported injuries at the TOSHIBA TEC operations, including the Tokyo head office, the Mishima plant or the facility at Ohito. Our international production facilities in Singapore and Indonesia, where the majority of our products are being manufactured, are unaffected. The impact of the tragic events on March 11 is therefore minimal for our European operations. As a result, we should not experience any disruption or supply issue, and we shall continue to operate as usual. Considering the tremendous shock and anxiety this event has created, it is possible that some sales or marketing actions may be delayed, and we would like to thank you in advance for your understanding and patience, although we will do our very best to keep those delays at a minimum. TOSHIBA TEC’s number one priority is to support our colleagues in Japan, our partner companies, suppliers and dealers through this situation. We will continue to provide updates as new information becomes available.
